Each release you publish in an app's Releases tab is added to that app's public changelog. The changelog is available in four forms. To set one up from scratch, see How to publish a changelog for your app.
Addresses
| Address | What it is |
|---|---|
/r/your-app/changelog | The public page, in your app's colour. |
/r/your-app/changelog.json | The same releases as JSON. Readable from any website (CORS). |
/r/your-app/changelog.xml | An Atom feed, newest release first, for feed readers and automations. |
/changelog.js | The embed script for your own site. |
JSON
{
"app": { "slug": "your-app", "name": "Your App" },
"url": "https://snagfrog.com/r/your-app/changelog",
"releases": [
{ "version": "1.4.2", "title": "Faster sync", "date": "2026-10-09", "notes": "- Sync is twice as fast" }
]
} Releases are listed newest first. notes is the text as written, with its marks.
Atom feed
One entry per release, with the version and title as the entry's title and the notes as its content. To let browsers and feed readers find it from your own site:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/atom+xml" title="Your App changelog"
href="https://snagfrog.com/r/your-app/changelog.xml"> Embed on your own site
<div id="changelog"></div> <script src="https://snagfrog.com/changelog.js" data-app="your-app" data-target="#changelog" async></script>
- The script renders plain, unstyled markup, so it takes your site's look: an
article.sf-releaseper release, itsidthe version, with a heading, a date and the notes indiv.sf-notes. data-limitshows only the newest N releases.- What the target already contains stays if the releases cannot be loaded, so you can put a fallback link there.
Publishing from Claude
The publish_release tool publishes a release with its notes and the reports it fixes.
Reporters are emailed only when notify_reporters is true.
Questions
Are the bug reports behind a release public?
No. The page, the JSON, the feed and the embed carry versions, titles, dates and notes only. The reports a release fixed are never included.
How quickly does a new release show up?
Browsers keep the changelog for a minute and shared caches for five, so a release appears within about five minutes everywhere.
What formatting do release notes support?
Plain text with a few marks: a line that starts with "- " is a list item, "## " a heading, and **bold**, `code` and [text](https://…) links are shown as such.
