How to plan and schedule X posts for your app

Last updated 5 November 2026

The short answer: keep a steady queue of posts for each app, plan a burst of them around every launch, and check which ones worked and when your followers are around. SnagFrog connects to your X account and keeps the drafts, campaigns, calendar and analytics for every app in one place. Posts go out only when you schedule them.

What a small app's X plan needs

  • A queue: a few posts a day, scheduled ahead, so posting doesn't depend on your mood.
  • A launch campaign per release, spread over the days around it.
  • Stories, not changelogs: the problem a release solves gets more replies than its version number.
  • Feedback: which posts got views and replies, and at what hour.

Step 1: Connect your X account

Contact us for a workspace. Open X → Account, press Connect with X and approve SnagFrog on x.com. Set your time zone and how many posts and replies a day you aim for. Posts can be 280 characters, or longer with X Premium.

Step 2: Write and schedule posts

  1. Open X → Posts and press New post, or Write a post on an app's X page.
  2. Write the text, add pictures or a video with alt text, or press Add to thread.
  3. Under About, pick the app.
  4. Pick a time and press Schedule, or Post now, or Save draft.

Switch between List and Calendar to see the week. A failed post says why, with Retry.

Step 3: Plan a launch campaign

Open X → Campaigns and press New campaign, or Plan a launch on an app's X page. Write what's new, one feature per line, add a link and the launch date, choose a week or three posts, and press Draft the posts. Read each draft, edit what doesn't sound like you, then press Schedule. Move launch shifts every post if the date slips. Each release's Release Day page drafts one from the release notes.

Step 4: See what lands

X → Today shows the next post, your streak and what to do next against your daily targets. X → Analytics shows views, engagements and followers per day against the period before, your Best hours, and the top posts. Numbers are read from X every 6 hours.

Questions

How do I schedule posts on X for my app?

Connect your X account, write the post or thread, pick the app it is about and a time, and press Schedule. SnagFrog posts it through X's own API at that time. Scheduled posts sit in a list and a calendar, where you can edit or unschedule them.

What is a launch campaign?

A set of posts spread over the days around a launch: a teaser, the story, the launch thread, one post per feature, an FAQ and a recap. SnagFrog drafts them from what's new, a link and the launch date; nothing goes out until you schedule the campaign.

Is my X password stored?

No. You approve SnagFrog on x.com and come straight back; no password is typed or kept. Posting pauses with a reason if X stops accepting SnagFrog, and Connect again fixes it.

What is the best time to post on X?

The hours your own followers are around. SnagFrog's Best hours chart shows the views of a typical post by the hour it went out, over the last 90 days, in your time zone.

Can Claude write the posts?

Yes. Campaigns can be drafted with Claude for a few cents from the monthly AI budget, a single post can be rewritten, and Claude Code can draft and import posts over MCP. You still read and schedule them.
