SnagFrog vs Bugnet at a glance

FeatureSnagFrogBugnet
Price to start Yes:$9/month or $90/year (launch offer $5/month or $49/year for founding members); unlimited apps, 1,000 reports a month; 14-day trial, no card; Studio $29/month or $290/year with 10,000 reports a month. Free plan No:No free plan. 14-day trial without a card. Yes:Indie, free forever: 1 project, up to 100 bug reports, 2 team members.
macOS app support Yes:Native macOS Swift package: logs, diagnostics and a window snapshot. The reporter can opt out. No:SDKs are for game engines; no native Swift SDK for Mac apps is listed.
Web widget Yes:Web widget with console errors, page URL and browser. A hosted report page per app needs no SDK. Partly:In-game widget, including web/HTML5 games. A widget for regular websites is not listed.
Reply to reporters by email Yes:Reply by email; replies thread back into the report. Not checked:Auto-Triage "drafts a reply you can send" on Studio and up; we did not check whether it reaches the player by email.
Reporter tracking page Yes:Private tracking page for reporters, no account needed. Not checked:Not checked — see their site.
AI / Claude fixing Yes:MCP server lets Claude Code read reports, fix the code and reply to the reporter. Partly:Auto-Triage suggests a category, priority and reply (Studio and up); we did not check for a Claude or MCP workflow.
Crash reporting Partly:No automatic crash collection or analytics. When someone reports after a crash, the macOS package attaches the crash log (not in sandboxed apps) and the Godot addon the previous session's log. Yes:Captures crashes and exceptions and groups them; crash analytics dashboard on every plan.
Session replay No:Not offered. Yes:Session replays on Studio Plus ($79/month).
Integrations Partly:On the Studio plan ($29/month): Discord, Slack and signed webhooks, plus one-click GitHub and Linear issues. The Indie plan has "Copy for GitHub" Markdown. Yes:GitHub or GitLab, webhooks and Discord notifications on the free plan; Steam review sync.
Game engine SDKs Partly:Godot 4 addon only (MIT): screenshot, log tail and diagnostics. The player sees what is attached and confirms on the report page. Yes:Official SDKs for Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, GameMaker, Construct 3, Pygame and web/HTML5 games.

When should you choose SnagFrog?

  • You ship a Mac app or a website as well as a game and want every report in one inbox.
  • You want to reply to players by email, with their answers threaded into the report and a private page where they can follow it.
  • You want players to see what is attached and confirm before anything is sent.
  • You want Claude Code to read reports, fix the code and reply to the reporter.

When should you choose Bugnet?

  • Your game is built in Unity, Unreal Engine, GameMaker, Construct 3 or Pygame.
  • You need crash analytics, crash grouping and regression detection across builds.
  • You want a free plan to start with.
  • You want Steam reviews next to your bug reports, or session replays.

What does SnagFrog not do?

No session replay, no automatic crash collection or crash analytics (a report sent after a crash carries the crash log), no iOS or Android SDKs, no game-engine SDKs other than a Godot 4 addon, no feature-voting boards and no live chat. If you need those, another tool may suit you better — check the comparison above.
